Néstor Ibarra, violin
Nestor completed his primary and secondary studies at El Colegio La Salle in Panama and simultaneously from the age of 6 began his Violin studies with the teacher Helena de Kitras at the Youth School of Music, where he also received classes with the teachers Carmen de Alza and Charles Monlouis. He continued his studies of Violin at the National Institute of Music, with the teacher Graciela Núñez, where he obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Music, Violin Mention in 2001. He carries out higher studies, simultaneously at the National Conservatory and the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Panama. Between 2006 and 2009, he studied for a degree in Musical and Sound Arts at the National University Institute of Art, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he received classes with well-known professors such as Eduardo Morandi and Oscar Piluso. Nestor participated in the National Concert Association camps from 1992 to 2004. He was concertmaster of the camp for 3 consecutive years. As a student he participated in: the Youth Orchestra of the Youth Plan, the Youth Orchestra of the National Institute of Music, the National Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Istmeña Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Quilmes Philharmonic Orchestra in Argentina. Mr. Ibarra was a musician for the Municipal Youth Camerata, where he was also a soloist on several occasions. He was a musician for the Chamber Group and Baroque Choir of the University of Panama, directed by Professor Lory Keine. As a professional, he is a permanent musician in the first violin section of the National Symphony Orchestra of Panama. He was soloist of said Orchestra together with René Quiroz in 2011. He has played under the baton of conductors such as Lory Keine, Jorge Ledezma Bradley, Samuel Robles, Ricardo Risco, Eduardo Charpentier, Timothy Wiss, Eddie Marcano, Gustavo Dudamel in Caracas Venezuela, Benjamin Zander, etc. As a Chamber Musician, he is a permanent member of the Oxus String Quartet, in addition to having played with musicians of the stature of Graciela Núñez, Luis and Isaac Casal, Eddie Marcano, among others. He participated as a musician and organizer in the Chamber Music cycle of the Club Platea. He has been invited on several occasions as a musician of the Camerata Alfredo de Saint Malo, which is a group that is made up of Top Level Musicians from various countries. In this group concerts and master classes are given in different parts of the country. He has had educational experiences as a teacher at the National Institute of Music for 1 year and at the National Concert Association Camp for the last 7 years, participating in international meetings such as: International Youth Festival in Havana, Cuba, Music Festival of Chamber in Managua, Nicaragua, Ibero-American Orchestra for the 40 years of CAF in Venezuela and the International Festival of the Arts in San José, Costa Rica. I am part of the Panama Jazz Festival, first as a Volunteer and later as an Artist. He has participated as a musician in plays and musicals such as: El Sorteo, Dos Noches y Una Madrugada almost Normales, Les Miserables, Aida, El Ahogado. He has played in various venues in different parts of Panama and internationally, in Costa Rica, Colombia , Venezuela, Argentina, Nicaragua and Cuba.
