Wedding

Generally the quartet plays 20-30 minutes of prelude music before the ceremony while guests are being seated. The prelude music is followed by the ceremony music which can include 1-2 processional pieces (bridal party and bridal entry), optional interlude pieces and the recessional. Postlude music is played as your guests leave.
-
When performing a wedding ceremony, the quartet needs to be located where they can see the processional or the person giving cues for the processional. They will also need to be able to hear the officiant. At your reception the best location is in an area close to you and your guests, but out of the flow of traffic. We require approximately 3x2m (9’10″x6’7″) of space to play and four armless chairs. We arrange the four armless chairs provided in a semicircle. Level ground, protection from high winds and adequate lighting are necessary for us to perform.

If requested we would be happy to perform outside. As a professional string quartet, we perform with expensive instruments that need to be protected from wind, UV rays (Sun) and rain. Therefore, the instruments, sheet music, and musicians need to be covered. A marquee, awning, large umbrella, extended canopy or the inside of a doorway are acceptable. To perform under a tree is not acceptable cover. The decision whether to perform outside will be made by the musicians at the time of performance and you agree that their decision will be final. Performances may be moved indoors due to weather conditions. We do not supply cover of any kind. Supplying cover is the responsibility of the hirer.

YES to both questions. You can start by reviewing our Repertoire List. CONTACT US directly if you don't see what you are looking for. Likewise, if there is a piece you definitely do not want to hear, please let us know that too.
-
We often collaborate with vocalists and other musicians on commonly performed wedding music, such as Ave Maria or Panis Angelicus. CONTACT US directly with details. If you would like an additional performer and need referrals, the Quartet can make recommendations for other respected instrumentalists (such as trumpet, flute, guitar) or vocalists. Contact us for more information.

We quote from the time we start playing to the time we finish/leave; therefore, if you require us to play at two different venues, or there is a break between the ceremony and reception (at the same venue) – the time spent waiting or travelling is quoted as well. We quote based on our time. This is because the quartet would not be able to accept additional engagements/bookings while waiting to play at your reception.

Standard dress is concert black (head to toe, professional black) but we can be more formal (with tuxedos and long dresses) or less formal, (suits or day wear).
